IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals unveil their new jersey for upcoming IPL

DC will open their IPL 2022 campaign against Mumbai Indians on March 27.

Delhi Capitals | BCCI/IPLDelhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday (March 12) unveiled their new jersey for the 2022 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Taking to Twitter, the Rishabh Pant-led franchise shared a picture, highlighting different parts of their latest jersey with the caption: “Presenting the new threads we'll flaunt in #IPL2022.”

The Delhi Capitals have added red colour to their original blue jersey. The red covers the left shoulder while the rest of the shirt has its trademark blue shade. The tiger symbol has been given a bigger space on the shirt.

"With an equal dash of red and blue, the new jersey exudes youthful and vibrant energy. While the red symbolises the team’s on-field courage, the blue stands for balance and composure. The tiger, an intrinsic part of the DC logo, is bigger and bolder, as the team gears up to roar again!," the Capitals said in a statement.

DC will open their campaign against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Brabourne Stadium on March 27. During the mega-auction last month, the franchise roped in some prominent names like David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Shardul Thakur, Mustafizur Rahman and Kuldeep Yadav.

Rishabh Pant will continue to lead the franchise, which had retained him ahead of the auction along with three other players – Anrich Nortje, Akshar Patel and Prithvi Shaw.

“It’s a new cycle of the IPL, and we can’t wait to see our players in this brand new jersey,” said Vinod Bisht, Interim CEO, Delhi Capitals.

“Supporting this team in its quest for glory is our fan army, so it’s only fitting for us to make them a part of our journey in every step.”
