IPL 2022: "Don't give me hope," Fans want Gujarat Titans to name Suresh Raina as a replacement of Jason Roy

The stage is set for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. The 15th edition of the cash-rich league will begin from 26th March in Maharashtra. The tournament will see a different format this year with 10 teams being divided into two groups. 

With less than one month remaining for the start of the IPL 2022, the new team Gujarat Titans suffered a major blow. English batter Jason Roy pulled himself out of the tournament. The right-hander cited that he wants to spend more time with his family. 

As Jason Roy pulled himself out of the tournament, there are many speculations about who will replace the English opener in the Gujarat Titans squad. Although there's no official confirmation, many fans want the Hardik Pandya-led side to rope in Suresh Raina as a replacement.

Suresh Raina, who had set himself a base price of INR 2 crores, went unsold in the IPL 2022 auction. The southpaw is the fourth-highest run-getter in IPL cricket. The former Indian cricketer had amassed 5528 runs at an average of 32.51 and a strike rate of 135. He also has scored a hundred and 39 fifties in the league. 

Fans of Twitter went berserk and expressed their desire to see Suresh Raina as a part of Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2022.
