The IPL 2022 begins from March 26.

RR retained Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal | TwitterThe IPL 2022 will be one of the most exciting seasons of the most popular and rich T20 league in the world, as it will feature two new teams in Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), making it a 10-team event.

The tournament is slated to begin on March 26 and the final will be played on May 29. The entire league stage of the IPL 2022 will be played in Maharashtra with three venues in Mumbai and one in Pune hosting all the 70 games in between them.

The Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, and the MCA Stadium in Pune will be the arenas where the 10 teams will clash. The teams will be divided into groups of five each.

Rajasthan Royals will be the one franchise, that would want to perform better in IPL 2022, having finished in the bottom two of the points table for the last three IPL seasons. They retained Sanju Samson, Jos Buttler, and Yashasvi Jaiswal ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

In the IPL 2022 auction, RR made some interesting buys. Their biggest buy was Prasidh Krishna for INR 10 crores. They then got Trent Boult for INR 8 crores and other notable buys in the auction were Himron Hetmyer, Devdutt Padikkal, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Navdeep Saini, and Rassie van der Dussen amongst others.

Rajasthan Royals have their top three batters sorted out given that they retained them ahead of the auction. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, and Sanju Samson, the captain, are the crux of the RR batting, which may be then bolstered by Shimron Hetmyer and Rassie van der Dussen in the middle order.

They also have the option of getting in Devdutt Padikkal or Karun Nair there as well. Dhruv Jurel and Tejas Baroka are also the options RR can consider. Riyan Parag may have to step up more as the finisher of the RR XI this time as they are short of big-hitting talent this time.

Yuzvendra Chahal | BCCIIn the spin department, RR has the gold in R Ashwin and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal going for them. The fast bowling department might see Trent Boult, Navdeep Saini, and Prasidh Krishna being given first preference.
