While the IPL 2022 auction that took place on 12th and 13th February in Bengaluru saw a lot of players being sold and unsold, the event also saw some drama.

Charu Sharma earned rich praises from many cricket fans and pundits for doing the auctioneer’s duty impressively.

Speaking in a voice note posted on his social media accounts, Charu Sharma expressed his gratitude towards the fans, who lauded him for conducting IPL 2022 auction smoothly.

"Hello, friends. I should have sent this message a couple of days earlier, but as some of you know, the last few days have been dramatic with my having to step in and conduct the IPL mega auction. Well, that story is out by now in detail. This message is to send my deepest gratitude to all of you on Twitter and many others who took the trouble to send words of appreciation," Charu Sharma said.

Sharma said that he was overwhelmed with the large wave of positivity and the respect he gained. He remarked that if gets the opportunity to commentate in the major cricket events he’s ready to do that.

"I may be an old warhorse but I am overwhelmed with this large wave of positivity and the flood of respect. Now I don't know whether this wave of support will pull me back into commentating at major cricketing events. If it does, I am ready, as always. If it doesn't, so be it. There is so much else to do in life,” he said.
