Senior Indian off-spinner R Ashwin expressed his delight after being picked by Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the IPL 2022. He said that the biggest plus for him playing for the franchise will be their pink-colored jersey as his daughters love that colour.
R Ashwin was acquired by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2022 auction, which took place on 12th and 13th February in Bengaluru. The off-spinner invited a bidding war between his old franchise Delhi Capitals and the winners of the inaugural edition of the IPL.
But in the end, the Sanju Samson-led side franchise roped in the 35-year-old for INR 5 crores.

RR will be R Ashwin’s fifth franchise in the IPL. The off-spinner has earlier represented Chennai Super Kings, now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants, Punjab Kings, and Delhi Capitals. The 35-year has been a prolific wicket-taker in the tournament. So far in 165 matches, he has taken 145 wickets at an economy of 6.91.
Days after joining the Rajasthan Royals, R Ashwin met skipper Sanju Samson and was also greeted with the goodies, which were given to him by franchise’s COO Jake Lush McCrum.
While unboxing the hamper, R Ashwin said that the biggest plus for him representing Rajasthan Royals will be the pink jersey as his daughters love pink colour.
"My daughters actually love pink. So the biggest plus of me playing for RR would be the pink dress. They'll be all over it," R Ashwin said in a video posted on RR’s Instagram account.
