In the IPL 2022 mega auction over the weekend, Delhi Capitals (DC) bought Australia opener, David Warner. The franchise bought the former SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain for Rs 6.25 crore from the national capital.

Following a tumultuous IPL 2021 edition, Warner, who led SRH to the IPL title in 2016, was released by the Hyderabad-based franchise ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. Warner struggled in the IPL 2021 and was eventually dropped as captain and from the playing XI.

Warner, however, rediscovered his form at the T20 World Cup last year, where his contributions were crucial in Australia's first world title in the shortest format. He also won the Player of the Tournament award for his batting spetacles.

Warner took to Instagram to express his delight at his new role at DC.

"Back to where it all began!! Pumped to meet up with my new teammates, owners, and coaching staff. Excited to meet all the new and old fans of @delhicapitalsm" wrote Warner, who had joined the Delhi-based franchise, then known as Delhi Daredevils, in his maiden IPL season in 2009.

"I will need some recommendations for some new reels also," joked Warner in his post.

"Who likes my photoshop," he added.

"We've got you covered! The languages will change, the entertainment on Reels won't," the Delhi Capitals account commented on Warner's post.

Warner's joke, which asked for recommendations for Instagram reels, was a dig at his own use of the platform.

Warner has shared a number of short clips, called "reels," on Instagram with references to Telugu films and pop culture, which has only added to his popularity among SRH fans.

Many of Warner's rib-tickling posts include photos or videos in which images of Indian actors have been morphed with his own.
