Mumbai Indians (MI) bought back wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan for INR 15.25 crore, making him the most expensive player at the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) mega-auction.
Placed at a base price of INR 2 crore, Kishan surpassed Shreyas Iyer, who was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for INR 12.25 crore. He is overall the second most expensive Indian player of all time, after Yuvraj Singh's INR 16 crore in IPL 2015 auction.

Suryakumar Yadav, who was retained by MI earlier, made a hilarious Instagram reel with his teammate Kishan after the franchise got him back into the squad. They recreated a scene from former India captain MS Dhoni's biopic, "MS Dhoni - The Untold Story".
"Munna ab kahi nahi jaa raha! Paltan, Can you guess this movie scene?", wrote MI on social media while posting the video with Suryakumar.
In the clip, Kishan goes outside his room for a while and then comes back, just like how he went out of the MI squad for a moment before making a return.
