The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction was completed in Bengaluru on Sunday, February 13, and the Delhi Capitals (DC) enjoyed a great time at the auction, having prepared a very balanced team for their hunt for the maiden title in the IPL 2022.

At the two-day IPL 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals (DC) managed to acquire the services of talented Indian stars such as Mandeep Singh, Khaleel Ahmed, Lalit Yadav, and Chetan Sakariya, along with overseas stars Rovman Powell, Lungi Ngidi, and Tim Seifert.

Reflecting back on the purchases, Kiran Kumar Grandhi, DC Chairman and co-owner, said that he is very happy with the make-up of the squad for the upcoming Tata IPL 2022.

Mr. Kumar said: “On a scale of 1-10, I would say 8/9 on how happy I am with the squad we have put together. More or less, it has been a good auction and we are very happy with the team we have put together. The team has done a good job over the last 2 months, meeting on a regular basis and hashing out differences of views, and achieving a good alignment before walking into the auction room.”

Meanwhile, DC’s assistant coach, Pravin Amre, has also expressed his delight at the squad they picked at the recent auction. He was particularly happy to have a great variety of fast bowlers for the IPL 15.

Amre said after the auction: “We are quite pleased with our buys. We have a good bank of Indian fast bowlers. Our strategy is to back Indian bowlers because with Anrich Nortje in our squad, we can use various other combinations. We will get these options of combinations with a left-arm seamer like Chetan Sakariya and Khaleel Ahmed.”
