The fourth set of Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) mega-auction featured capped wicket-keepers. There were some big names in the category including explosive England batter Jonny Bairstow and India's Ishan Kishan, who was part of Mumbai (MI) Indians last season.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) managed to get their middle-order star batter Ambati Rayudu back into the squad. They paid INR 6.75 crore for Rayudu to outbid the competitors Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Kishan, who was expected to shake the mega-auction, made his ex-franchise MI run for him. Mumbai were engaged in a bidding war with Gujarat Titans (GT), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) before finally making the winning bid.

Nicholas Pooran was the second-highest paid player in the category with a whopping amount of INR to Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 10.75 crore after Kolkata Knight Riders pushed the price but backed out later. Initially, he wasn't expected to go for such a high price.

Bairstow attracted Delhi, Punjab, and his former franchise Hyderabad. With interest rising in the Englishman, the price took no time to escalated from his base price of INR 1.5 crore to INR 6.75 crore, the amount at which PBKS signed him.
