"Lion at the den!", Fans and CSK welcome MS Dhoni in Chennai ahead of IPL 2022 mega-auction

Chennai Super Kings have retained four players, including MS Dhoni, before going into the auction.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni arrived in Chennai ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega-auction. The event is scheduled to be held on February 12 and 13.

The official Twitter account of Super Kings posted a picture of Dhoni in Chennai. He was wearing a mask and carrying his camouflage jacket in one hand, as seen in the picture.

"The love goes, every single time!", wrote CSK on Twitter. Like everytime, the fans were thrilled to see their favorite 'Thala' in Chennai. 

Dhoni joined the franchise in Chennai for the preparation of the mega-auction which is going to be very important in setting up a perfect squad. They have already retained four players ahead of the auction.

Apart from the 40-year-old, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Moeen Ali have secured a spot in the franchise. Jadeja was the first retained player with Rs 16 crore, while Dhoni took Rs 12 crore. 

"Yes, he has arrived in Chennai today. He will be here for the auction discussions. He is likely to be present for the auction. But it is Mahi's call and a call will be made close to the auction," sources told InsideSport.
