Australia batsman David Warner hinted he is most likely to be in the upcoming IPL 2022 mega auction after Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) didn't retain him. Warner, who led SRH to the IPL title in 2016, was removed from the captaincy in the middle of IPL 2021 and he had also lost his place in the side.

It was very pretty clear that the Aussie won't be retained by the Hyderabad-based franchise for the upcoming IPL cycle, although he showed a terrific performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2021 and won the Player of the Tournament award.

Warner is expected to be picked in the draft, which has a deadline of December 25. There were speculations on one of the two new franchises - Lucknow and Ahmedabad - approaching him to lead their side.

In the draft system, Lucknow and Ahmedabad will get to secure up to three picks from the released players by existing eight IPL teams ahead of the mega auction.

But Warner, in a conversation with a fan on social media, revealed that he may get into the auction. “Warner bro what’s up about IPL,” the fan wrote. “Auction I guess,” the Aussie replied.
