Premier Australian opener David Warner has hinted that Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) might retain New Zealand's Kane Williamson ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a season to forget as they won only 3 games in the IPL 2021 and finished last on the points table. After a few losses at the beginning of the tournament, SRH stripped David Warner off his captaincy and made Kane Williamson their new skipper.

If that was not enough, Warner was then dropped from the team and was not even allowed to travel to the stadium with the squad in the second half of the tournament in UAE and was seen cheering from his hotel room and then from the stands.

With several events taking place inside SRH’s dressing room and with them finishing last on the points table, it is almost certain that they are due to make bulk changes and are unlikely to retain David Warner for the next season.

However, David Warner hinted that Sunrisers Hyderabad might retain current skipper Kane Williamson at IPL 2022 auction.

Replying to fans’ comments on the Instagram page of the franchise, the southpaw urged his fans to support the team as his friend Kane Williamson will be there in the next season as well.

“yaazey6 make sure you keep supporting as my friend Kane will still be there, please,” David Warner commented.

Notably, David Warner took leadership duties of SRH in 2015 and led them to their first title victory in IPL 2016.
