Robin Uthappa heaped rich praise on the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise, saying that he felt extremely grateful to be a part of the team as they create a very secure environment.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after displaying a dominant performance in the league stage of IPL 2021, thumped Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs in the summit clash to clinch their fourth IPL title.

Robin Uthappa, who featured in just 4 matches this season, played a vital role with the bat for his team in Qualifier 1 and then in the final by playing two brutal knocks of 63 and 31 runs respectively. He was an X-factor for his team in the playoffs and took the game away from the opposition in almost no time at all.

After winning an IPL title with CSK, Uthappa said that it feels amazing to be a part of this franchise as they staged a great comeback after having a forgettable last season and he’s grateful that his team succeeded in winning a trophy.

"Extremely grateful, it feels amazing to be part of this side, especially how last year went for us. It was a very lean season for us last year and so it was important for us to come back and play as well as we could and be really grateful that we have been able to," Robin Uthappa said after the match.

While talking about the team environment, Robin Uthappa said that the management and the support staff communicate a lot with the players, which helps to create a bio-secure environment.

He further added that one of the main reasons behind them being a successful team is that they create an atmosphere where they look after the players that are not playing.

“I just want to come in and contribute to the team's success. They create a very secure environment within the group and there's a lot of clarity and communication within the support staff and the players and that really helps in building a secure group.

“I believe it's your players who are not playing in the eleven that really create the atmosphere within the group and they make sure that they look after the players who are not playing in the eleven and I think that's one of the biggest takeaways of our success in IPL,” he said.

With an emphatic win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) became the second team with four IPL titles, only behind Mumbai Indians who have five titles in their kitty.
