The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni turned back the clock as he finished the game against Delhi Capitals (DC) to take his side into the final of this ongoing IPL 2021.
While CSK was needed 12 off the final over, DC’s Tom Curran dismissed Moeen Ali but Ranchi-based wicket-keeper batter kept his cool and ensured that his team gets over the line on Sunday (10 October) at Dubai.
The DC skipper Rishabh Pant on the other hand backed Tom Curran citing his performance throughout the match except for the final over and also explained why he went with the right-arm quick for the final over.
“Obviously it's very disappointing, don't have enough words to describe how we are feeling right now. The only thing we can do is rectify our mistakes and move on to the next one. I thought that Tom bowled beautifully throughout the match, last over, unfortunately, went for runs,” Pant said during the post-match presentation.

“I thought the bowler who is having a great day, it's better to use him for the last over. I thought the score was decent but they got off to a flier in the powerplay and we didn't get enough wickets and that was the main difference,” he added.
Since the Delhi-based franchise missed out on the chance to get straight into the final, they will be playing the winner of the Eliminator that will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The explosive left-hand batter Pant then said that his side will be rectifying the mistakes ahead of Qualifier 2 on Wednesday (13 October) at Sharjah.
“As a cricketer, we are going to rectify our mistakes, gonna learn from it and move on to the next one. Hopefully, we can win and play the final,” Rishabh Pant signed off.
