IPL 2021: “No pic with me in there”, David Warner drops a comment on Kane Williamson’s Instagram post

Warner was dropped from SRH's playing XI six times in the IPL 2021 season.

David Warner | BCCI/IPLSunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ended their IPL 2021 campaign with a crushing 42-run defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians (MI) in Abu Dhabi on Friday (October 8).

The 14th edition of the IPL was a nightmare for the Hyderabad-based franchise as they won only three out of their 14 matches and finished the league stage as a bottom-placed team on the points table.

A day after their last outing, SRH skipper Kane Williamson took to Instagram and shared a picture with his teammates and support staff forming a huddle.

“A tough season with plenty of lessons. Always a pleasure playing with these guys. A special mention to the team, the staff and especially the fans #orangearmy,” Williamson captioned the photo.

Surprisingly, former SRH skipper David Warner didn’t feature in the picture and the southpaw was a bit disappointed by it.

“No pic with me in there, thought we were so tight,” Warner commented on Williamson’s post, and also used crying face and face with tears of joy emojis.

Despite leading the franchise to the IPL title win in 2016, Warner was at the receiving end of some harsh decisions taken by the SRH management this year. He was removed as captain midway through the first phase of IPL 2021 in India and was left out of the playing XI six times.

Considering the treatment meted out to David Warner this year, it is unlikely that the Sunrisers will retain him ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
