RCB registered a last ball win over DC | BCCI/IPLThe Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batters Srikar Bharat (78*) and Glenn Maxwell (51*) ensured that their side gets over the line against Delhi Capitals (DC) by registering a 7-wicket win over the table toppers in match 56 of IPL 2021 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

While RCB lost a few early wickets while chasing DC’s target of 165 runs, some fantastic batting along with some poor fielding displayed by the top ranked Delhi side saw Virat Kohli and Co. stealing the match with a last-ball six.

We know how important fielding is in T20s. If you field the way we did, you deserve to lose. We also lost too many wickets while batting. But we will have to field better next time, I guess, the DC skipper Rishabh Pant told host broadcasters Star Sports after the match.

As the DC bowlers got tonked by RCB’s Bharat and Maxwell, the wicket-keeper batter Pant on the other hand felt dew made it difficult for the bowlers but also made it clear that the fielding unit should’ve supported the bowlers.

It was difficult for the fast bowlers with the dew, but the fielding has to support the bowling unit. We are not feeling great because you want to win these kinds of matches,” the explosive left-hand batter concluded.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) finished the league stage of IPL 2021 at the top of the points table and will be taking on MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Qualifier 1 on Sunday (10 October).

Virat Kohli-led RCB on the other hand, will be taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Eliminator on Monday (11 October).
