Umran Malik | BCCI/IPLThe Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a great game against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as the former defended their small target of 142 runs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi during match 52 of IPL 2021 on Wednesday (6 October).

Umran Malik had impressed everyone with his searing pace on his SRH debut looked really good against RCB as well, as his bowling figures read 1-21 in 4 overs. The all-rounder Jason Holder lauded his SRH teammate for his ability to bowl fast as they won the match by 4 runs.

The first thing to mention is his pace, that is his biggest asset. He has been consistent in training and he has been giving us a hard time in training. He is very hard to get hold of, he has been deceiving the batters through his pace and that extra pace adds a boost to any bowling attack,Holder said during a virtual post-match press conference.

It is good to see his control as well, a lot of guys who have bowled quick over the years, generally they can be erratic but he has been pretty consistent,” the West Indies all-rounder added.

Malik who had bowled a delivery at 150 kmph in his debut game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), bowled the fastest delivery of IPL 2021 as he clocked 153 kmph during the 9th over of the second innings at Abu Dhabi.

Holder returned 1-27 in his quota of 4 overs and then went on to reflect on his own performance in the game as he also contributed with the bat by scoring 16 (13) with two boundaries.

Well, I just try to prepare well. Funny enough I did not practice on Tuesday, I tend to watch the footage and see patterns on where I can set the field when I bowl. I think batting is just about the situation, the partnership I formed, in the end, was crucial,” SRH’s Jason Holder signed off.

SRH will now be locking horns with the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday (8 October) at the same venue in Abu Dhabi.
