KKR face RR on Oct 7 in Sharjah in a game they need to win to make it into the playoffs | BCCI-IPLThe Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have given an update on all-rounder Andre Russell and fast bowler Lockie Ferguson who has missed the last couple of games due to fitness issues. KKR currently sits on the 4th spot in the IPL 2021 points table with 12 points.

Andre Russell had experienced a hamstring pull and has missed a few games while Ferguson also pulled his hamstring and this has led to the KKR team fielding a team that captain Morgan said was difficult to balance with the absence of the likes of Russell.

KKR defeated SRH in their previous match and will now play Rajasthan Royals in their final league encounter in Sharjah on October 7. They need to win this match to stay alive for the race of playoffs as a win and their net run rate will ensure them a playoffs spot.

However, if they lose, they would need SRH to beat Mumbai Indians in the final league match for both teams. If KKR wins their match against RR, MI will need to win their match against SRH by around 87 runs to go past them on net run rate.

This means KKR will be eager to have Andre Russell and Lockie Ferguson back for this crucial encounter and they took to Twitter to share an update that both the player have recovered from their injuries and are back practicing in the nets.

Where is Russell? Where is Lockie?"... Well they are at the training ground, firing in all cylinders,” KKR tweeted.
