IPL 2021: WATCH- Jimmy Neesham says 'felt like I was debuting again' after thumping win vs RR

Neesham took 3-12 in his 4 overs as MI restricted RR to 90/9 in their 20 overs.

Jimmy Neesham celebrates the fall of RR skipper Sanju Samson | BCCI/IPLThe defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) completely dominated Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) in match 51 of IPL 2021 in Sharjah as they registered a thumping 8-wicket win with 70 balls to spare and got two crucial points to stay in the hunt for a spot in playoffs.

New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham who played his second game for the Mumbai-based franchise was at his best as the Kiwi ended the match with his figures reading 3-12 in his quota of 4 overs.

Hence, while talking to his MI teammate Nathan Coulter-Nile after the match at Sharjah, Neesham opined that it felt like he was making his debut all over again for the five-time champions MI.

IPL 2021: "Still hoping to see Chahal in T20 World Cup squad," says Harbhajan Singh

Yeah, look obviously, the tournament has been weird, I felt like I was debuting again after the break. Coming out and giving a performance like this when we needed to win two from two was very pleasing. Hopefully, it falls our way and sneak into the playoffs,Neesham told Coulter-Nile in a video posted on iplt20.com.

Opting to bowl first, Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians restricted RR to a paltry 90/9 in their 20 overs on a bowling conducive wicket at Sharjah owing to Coulter-Nile’s 4-14, Neesham picking 3-12 along with Bumrah’s 2-14.

When it came to batting, MI batters played beautifully and ended up chasing the small target of 91 runs in just 8.2 overs, thanks to Ishan Kishan’s blistering 50* (25) which improved their net run-rate immensely.

The defending champions MI will be locking horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their last match of the league stage on Friday (8 October) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
