Even though Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) have qualified for the playoffs, both teams faced each other on Monday (4 October) in match 50 of IPL 2021 at Dubai with the first spot on the points table up for grabs.
The Rishabh Pant-led DC became the table-toppers after handing a 3-wicket loss to CSK. Opting to bowl first, the Delhi-based franchise restricted MS Dhoni and co. to just 136/5 in their 20 overs and ended up chasing it down in the last over.

All the DC cricketers were extremely happy with their performances in IPL 2021 as they occupied the top spot on the points table and celebrated this win enthusiastically in their dressing room.
Ripal Patel, who made his IPL debut in the game, emulated Cristiano Ronaldo's trademark "Siu" celebration.

As two of the best bowling attacks of the tournament went head to head in Dubai, it was not going to be an easy chase for DC but the left-handed Shimron Hetmyer batted brilliantly scoring 28 (18) with 2 boundaries and a maximum ensuring his side gets over the line.
“Very important for me to finish games. I tell the guys that is what I am paid for, and I try to finish as many games as possible. I thought I was out (on his dropped catch), and the guy missed it and I was thankful,” Hetmyer told host broadcasters Star Sports after the match.
