Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner R Ashwin heaped praise on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) opener Ruturaj Gaikwad for his remarkable consistency in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) ahead of DC’s next IPL clash with CSK on Monday (October 4) in Dubai.
The 24-year-old came into the limelight after his late-season heroics for CSK in IPL 2020. On Saturday, October 2, Gaikwad slammed his maiden IPL century against Rajasthan Royals in Abu Dhabi.
He has been also a consistent performer for CSK in the ongoing IPL 2021, amassing 508 runs in 12 games.
Gaikwad’s superb batting is at a completely different level in the UAE, where his scores read: 101*(60), 45(38), 40(28), 38(26), 88*(58), 62*(49), 72(53), 65*(51) so far in the second leg of the T20 league.

Ashwin said in a video shared by DC on Twitter: “Look, I think CSK have got a couple of batters who look at like golden form. I do not know what to say. The way Ruturaj Gaikwad has been batting has been absolutely wonderful to watch. It is going to be a challenge.”
He signed off by saying on DC v CSK game, “CSK bat deep, bat aggressively. They batted aggressively against us at the Wankhede as well. It will be at the Dubai stadium, the pitch has been good there. I’m looking at the batting dish out the game.”
Noteworthy, CSK and DC are currently at the top two spots in the IPL 14 points table with 18 points each and they have both also qualified for the playoffs.
