Delhi Capitals (DC) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by four wickets on Saturday (October 2) to secure their 9th win of the IPL 2021. They needed 4 in the last over and R Ashwin hit Krunal Pandya for a six on the very first ball.

After Ashwin's winning hit, DC head coach Ricky Ponting was seen getting off his seat in the dugout with his both hands up in joy. Reacting to the video posted by Delhi's official Twitter account, Ponting wrote that his passion for the franchise sometimes takes over his emotions.

"Sometimes my passion for my team gets the better of me! Always hard to beat MI, tough conditions for batting but Shreyas and Ashwin did exactly what we needed them to do. Great win @delhicapitals," tweeted Ponting after the win.

Mumbai could only post a total of 129 for 8 with the help of Suryakumar Yadav's 33 off 26 balls and DC, who have already qualified for the playoffs, chased the target in 19.1 overs.

Ex-DC captain Shreyas Iyer was the top scorer for them with unbeaten 33 runs and skipper Rishabh Pant made 26. With the ball, Akshar Patel got 3/21 and speedster Avesh Khan was the pick of the bowlers with 3/15.
