Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Hardik Pandya sounded optimistic when asked when he will start bowling in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
This comes amidst the talks around his place in India’s T20 World Cup 2021 squad which will be played from October 17 in the UAE and Oman.
Pandya has been playing purely as a batter for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the ongoing IPL 2021, which raised questions over his place as an all-rounder in India’s T20 World Cup 2021 squad.
However, the 26-year-old gave a positive update when it came to bowling ahead of the MI’s IPL 14 game against Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday, October 2, in Sharjah.

Hardik told host broadcaster Star Sports: “Runs are important and especially when your team wins. It was important for my personal confidence but to score for the team was important. We have to assess the wicket and adapt on the given time.
The plans have to be simple and win over obstacles ball-by-ball. There's no option, but one thing is that these situations bring out the best in you. We realize it is a do-or-die game, but we are just focusing on the controllable.”
On his return to bowling, the all-rounder replied by saying, “Aayega jaldi. Koshish poori hai (I will bowl soon. Efforts are on).”
Noteworthy, Pandya has not been bowling regularly ever since he returned after the back surgery. Recently, MI head coach Mahela Jayawardene said the all-rounder might struggle with the bat if he pushes too hard to bowl in the ongoing IPL 2021.
