The 44th match of the IPL 2021 saw the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Sharjah. This was a must-win game for SRH to remain alive in the playoffs race, while CSK needed to win it and qualify for the playoffs.
MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first. 3/24 from Josh Hazlewood and two wickets from Dwayne Bravo, who replaced Sam Curran in the playing XI, kept the SRH team to 134/7. Wriddhiman Saha made 44, while Abdul Samad and Abhishek Sharma made 18 runs each.

In reply, CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis, who made 45 and 41 respectively, added 75 runs for the opening wicket. Though SRH kind of came back into the game by removing the openers and middle order cheaply.
But then Ambati Rayudu (17*) and MS Dhoni with 14* made sure CSK won by 6 wickets and qualified for the playoffs. MS Dhoni ended the match with a six giving CSK fans lots to cheer.
The cricket fraternity was ecstatic to see CSK back in top form after a dismal IPL 2020 and shared their joy on Twitter.
