Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson lamented that they couldn't capitalize on a great start after his team suffered a 7-wicket defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 43rd contest of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) on Wednesday (September 29).

Batting first, Rajasthan Royals (RR) were 100/1 at one stage before Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowlers made a stunning comeback to restrict RR to 149/9, which RCB chased down inside 17.1 overs, thanks to brilliant batting efforts from Glenn Maxwell (50*) and Srikar Bharat (44).

For RR, Mustafizur Rahman managed two wickets, as RCB won the game by 7 wickets in Dubai to earn two crucial points to remain in third place in the IPL 14 points table.

Well, with that result, RR is almost out of the playoffs race being sat in seventh place in the points table with just 8 points from 11 games so far in the ongoing IPL 2021.

RR is in big trouble now after losing to RCB and now they have to win all three games in the ongoing IPL 2021 to stay in the race for playoffs and Samson said his team “doesn’t have anything to lose” and they will be fighting till the last match in the UAE.

Samson said during the post-match presentation: “We got a great start, but couldn't capitalize. Middle-order needs some confidence. We went in with intent, the wicket was two-paced and our batters kept mistiming it. To be honest, it's been a hard one week for us, we need to put in a fight as a franchise.”

He signed off by saying, “Happy with the effort and intent with the bowling. We don't have anything to lose. That kind of mindset brings a lot of freedom, have seen some funny things happen. Need to keep on believing and fighting till the last match.”
