IPL 2021: "I just don't like the mentality," Vaughan slams RCB batters for celebrating a six

IPL 2021: "I just don't like the mentality," Vaughan slams RCB batters for celebrating a six

Royal Challengers Bangalore have 6 wins out of 10 matches in the IPL 2021.

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan is not impressed with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for celebrating a boundary in the middle-overs. Vaughan pointed out that the RCB players fistbump after hitting a six and he doesn't like that mentality.

RCB skipper Virat Kohli is someone who loves to admire his batting partner's shots. We have seen him doing it too often even when he plays for the Indian cricket team. In a clash with Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday (September 26), Kohli was seen celebrating shots from his teammates, Srikar Bharat and Glenn Maxwell.

Vaughan didn't mention Kohli's name, but he took a jibe at RCB and said that they look like an immature group after celebrating a mere boundary in the 8th over.

"I'll be honest with you... RCB.. I don't want to feel like I am picking on them but I just don't like the mentality. I don't like seeing fistbumps for someone hitting a six, you know, in the ninth over. You hit a six but that's your job to get the ball over the ropes. You give a fistbump when you celebrate at the end of the game when you have won. I have seen little celebrations at the wrong moment from the RCB team," Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

"I just don't see the mechanism of maturity. It looks quite immature group that's celebrating someone hitting a six in the 8th over [sic]. So what? Who cares about that? That's for later on in a couple of hours time when you start celebrating. I see some of the things in this group that... yeah, I am not too sure I think they are almost playing individually rather than a collective," he added.

Bangalore are currently at number 3 on the points table with 6 wins in 10 games. They have four more matches to go and with other teams below them struggling with only 4 wins in 10 outings, RCB's chances for playoffs look high.
