IPL 2021: Williamson is a great captain, he kept giving me confidence- SRH's Abhishek Sharma

While the English opening batter Jason Roy (60) provided SRH with a fantastic start while chasing RR’s target of 165 runs, skipper Kane Williamson with his 51 off 41 balls ensured the Orange Army gets home with the youngster Abhishek Sharma (21) at the other end.

Thus, SRH all-rounder Abhishek Sharma lauded skipper Williamson for always showing faith in him and having the belief in his ability.

I think it was a big opportunity for me. I was waiting for my chance and wanted to contribute for my team. Feels good that this is our first game in Dubai. Throughout my time in the nets I was planning to play an innings such as this and take my team to victory,Sharma told host broadcasters Star Sports.

Williamson is a great captain. He kept giving me the confidence and kept telling me that I could finish this match on my own,” 21-year-old Abhishek Sharma added.

As far as the Royals are concerned, skipper Sanju Samson fought the lone battle by playing a superb knock of 82 (57) with 7 boundaries and 3 maximums which helped RR reach a competitive total of 164/5 in their quota of 20 overs.

With this win, SRH got to 4 points and will be facing the current table-toppers Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next match of the IPL 2021 campaign on Thursday (30 September) at Sharjah.
