IPL 2021: 'That's it for Warner and SRH'- Twitterverse reacts as SRH drop David Warner for RR match

Warner has 195 runs in 8 matches in IPL 2021 so far for SRH.

David Warner made 0 and 2 in two matches in second half of IPL 2021 for SRH | BCCI-IPLSunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) 2016 IPL trophy-winning captain David Warner didn’t have a very good IPL 2021 for the franchise. Not only his batting form deserted him, but Warner failed badly as captain as well, as SRH couldn’t come to terms with the turning and slow wicket in Chennai.

The first half of IPL 2021 saw SRH winning only one match, which came under Warner's captaincy, but since then it has been consistent losses. SRH lost patience and replaced him as captain with New Zealand’s Kane Williamson.

Warner was then dropped from the playing XI as well and didn’t feature in the XI until the tournament was suspended due to the COVID outbreak.

He still got another go in the XI after England’s Jonny Bairstow pulled out of the second leg of the IPL 2021 after BCCI shifted the remainder of matches to UAE. He had made 193 runs in India and managed to add only 2 more runs in the two matches he got to play in UAE, which included a duck. His strike rate was a dismal 107.73 and he hit only 15 fours and 6 sixes despite making two half-centuries.

When SRH captain Kane Williamson came to the toss for their match against RR, the 40th encounter of the ongoing IPL 2021, the Kiwi revealed the playing XI and it missed the name of David Warner as the opener, as SRH went with England’s Jason Roy at the top.

It seems SRH have finally made peace with the fact that David Warner will not work for them as pure batter given his form and have done away with him for good and he potentially has played his last game for the franchise this season.

The Twitterverse went nuts after the SRH playing XI was announced and David Warner’s name was missing from it and reacted on the social media platform.
