Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets in the IPL 2021 on Friday (September 24). Asked to bat first, RCB scored 156/6 in the 20 overs, but they couldn't stop CSK from chasing it down in just 18.1 overs with 6 wickets in hand.
Ex-RCB batter Parthiv Patel lauded CSK skipper MS Dhoni after the win in Sharjah. Parthiv said Dhoni knows how to bring the best out of his players and he further called him master of reading the pitches.
"There is a reason why we now say Mentor Singh Dhoni," Parthiv told Star Sports after the win. Dhoni has been appointed as India's mentor at the 2021 T20 World Cup.
"He has been around for so many years, he understands the situation. He is a master of reading the pitches and a master of how to get the best out of your bowlers. He knows how to get the best out of Bravo, Shardul Thakur, or Deepak Chahar.
"The good thing is that everyone trusts him. When there is a good plan, everyone trusts him with it because there is a lot of experience behind it and a lot of success behind it," he said.
Dwayne Bravo was the Player-of-the-Match for his 3/24 at Sharjah which has very short boundaries. He picked the wicket of RCB captain Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Harshal Patel.
Shardul Thakur also bowled a handy spell and bagged a couple of important wickets for CSK at the right time. He dismissed AB de Villiers and Devdutt Padikkal in successive deliveries of the 17th over.
