Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Kieron Pollard looked visibly unpleased with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) speedster Prasidh Krishna's attempt to get under his skin. The incident happened during MI's clash against KKR on Thursday (September 23) in Abu Dhabi.
After Pollard came out to bat, Krishna tried to intimidate him on the last ball of the 15th over. The Caribbean batter was facing his first delivery of the innings and he gently pushed the ball back to the bowler.
Krishna, after stopping the ball, kept his hand up in the air while walking close to the batter. Pollard, clearly unamused by the gesture, exchanged a few words at the end of the over.
Pollard took out his anger in the next over of Krishna as he smacked him for a six and four. Mumbai collected 18 runs off the over and the KKR pacer returned with a figure of 43/2 in four overs. He was eventually run-out in the last over after scoring 21 runs off 15 deliveries and MI managed 155/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
It turned out to be a below-par score against an attacking KKR top-order. They chased down the target in just 15.1 overs to win the match by 7 wickets. Rahul Tripathi scored unbeaten 74 runs and Venkatesh Iyer smashed 53 off 30 deliveries. But it was Sunil Narine who won the Player-of-the-Match.
