Former India batsman Aakash Chopra was impressed with Nortje's consistent pace and he posted a tweet praising his bowling. "Over-speeding ka challan kato #SeriousPace (Fine him for over-speeding)," he jokingly wrote.

Nortje's bowled his slowest delivery of 128 kmph in the match to deceive the batter, except for that, he was consistently over 140 kmph.

The South African was picked as the Player of the Match for his bowling performance. At the post-match presentation, he said “Missing out in the first half was disappointing. It was good to have a good start to the tournament for me.”

"Looking at the first game here, it was good to see some grass and then yesterday’s big score – didn’t know what to expect. It was good to keep things simple in the end," he added.
