The IPL 2021 resumed with great fanfare in Dubai as Mumbai Indians (MI) took on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 30 of the tournament. CSK won the toss and chose to bat first and made two changes with Dwayne Bravo coming in for Sam Curran and Josh Hazlewood for Lungi Ngidi.
For MI, there were two changes as Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya missed out with Kieron Pollard captaining the side. Anmolpreet Singh made his MI debut.
Chennai had a horror start as Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali got out for a duck, while Ambati Rayudu had to retire hurt after being hit on his forearm. Suresh Raina followed for 4, while captain MS Dhoni fell for 3 runs as Adam Milne and Trent Boult picked two wickets each as CSK were left 24/4.

But Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja (26) rebuilt the innings with a partnership of 81 runs for the 5th wicket. After Jadeja fell, Bravo came and hit 23 runs in 8 balls with Gaikwad continuing his brilliant innings.
He finished the innings by sweeping Jasprit Bumrah for a six and remained unbeaten on 88 in 58 balls with 4 sixes and 9 fours as Chennai Super Kings ended with 156/6 in 20 overs.
Bumrah picked 2/33, Milne took 2/21 and Boult took 2/35.
The cricket fraternity was all praises for Ruturaj’s innings and lauded him on Twitter.
