IPL 2021: KKR very much in contention to finish in top 4, feels Shubman Gill

KKR won only two out of seven matches in the first phase of IPL 2021.

Shubman Gill | GettyKolkata Knight Riders (KKR) had a tough time in the first half of Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) winning only two of their first seven matches. The team is currently placed seventh on the points table.

KKR’s opener Shubman Gill opined that despite the poor performances in the first half, the team is still capable of qualifying for the play-offs.

"I think we are very much in contention to finish in top 4. Whichever team qualifies, you never know what will happen. Hopefully, we will win the remaining matches, make sure we qualify and then we'll see where we go from there,” Gill told KKR website after reaching the team hotel in Abu Dhabi.

IPL 2021, which was cut short due to COVID virus entering the bio-secure bubbles, will resume in UAE from 19 September. KKR will resume its campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 20 September in Abu Dhabi.
