The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have announced their final signings for the replacement of players who won’t be available for the upcoming second leg of the IPL 2021 which begins on September 19 and will be played in UAE.
With many of the players pulling out of the second leg of the tournament owing to bio-bubble fatigue and other personal reasons, various franchises were in the lookout to fill up spots in their squad before the remainder of the 31 matches of IPL 14 will be played.
Kolkata Knight Riders, the two-time IPL Champions, has announced today that New Zealand pacer Tim Southee will replace Australia's Pat Cummins for the remainder of the IPL 2021. Cummins made himself unavailable for the season for personal reasons.

Brendon McCullum, Head Coach of KKR said: “We are delighted to have Southee in our ranks. He is a proven match-winner and a welcome addition to the already strong pace attack of KKR. With Cummins being unavailable we wanted to add experience and leadership to our bowling group and Southee is the ideal man for the job.”
KKR will resume its campaign by playing against the RCB at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium on 20th of September.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings announced the signing of England leg-spinner Adil Rashid in the team in place of Jhye Richardson who opted out of the IPL 2021's second phase due to injury. PBKS had earlier signed Nathan Ellis to replace Riley Meredith who is also injured.
The 33-year-old is expected to join the team camp soon alongside countrymen Dawid Malan and Chris Jordan and will be available for the entirety of the 2021 IPL campaign.
The IPL also tweeted an update regarding the final list of replacement players for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders.

RCB has included Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga for Daniel Sams and Adam Zampa, while George Garton and Tim David come in for Kane Richardson and Finn Allen.
Glenn Phillips was signed by Rajasthan Royals in place of Jofra Archer and Tabraiz Shamsi replaced Andrew Tye in the team.
