Mumbai Indians (MI) wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan made his name with his attacking batting style. Kishan even marked his ODI debut for India with a first-ball six followed by a boundary off the very next ball.
While in a pre-training chat for the MI ahead of the IPL 2021's second leg, the southpaw revealed that it was not his plan to go for a six from ball one instead it was to middle the ball and be comfortable at the crease.
“No, it’s not like I always go for a first-ball six. But I know my game. I may or may not be in a positive mindset on the very first ball.”
“In a lot of matches, it so happens that you go in and think to yourself to just play the ball a little before settling down and hitting big. But that is not my game. It’s the opposite for me. As soon as I go in, I need to middle the ball,” Kishan said.

The left-hand explosive batsman had a terrible first-half of IPL 2021 which was held in India earlier this year as he scored just 73 runs in five matches. But, the 23-year-old talked about the advice he received which has boosted his confidence for the UAE leg of the tournament.
“I've been told that if this is my game plan, I must remain focused from the first ball, keep watching the ball, and middle it. That is why this advice has been given to me, and I will look to do that,” Ishan Kishan concluded.
The defending champions who finished the first leg of the tournament on the fourth spot on the points table with 4 wins in 7 matches, will begin their UAE campaign by playing the opening match of the second-leg of IPL 2021 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on September 19 in Dubai.
