Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni has started training for the second phase of Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) in UAE. The franchise had touched the Gulf country on August 13 and they went into quarantine in their hotel at The8 Palm in Dubai.

CSK started their training sessions at ICC Academy in Dubai on August 20 after spending six days of mandatory quarantine on arrival in the UAE. In the video doing the rounds on social media, Dhoni can be seen hitting big sixes in the net session.

Dhoni hasn't been in good form since the last IPL and his poor outing with the bat continued in the first phase of IPL 2021 as well. Being an inactive cricketer does make it difficult for him to get back the touch, but he would be looking to play some crucial knocks for his side.

A batting-heavy CSK team has managed to work on their batting weakness and the 40-year-old has the liberty to go after the bowlers from the first ball, unlike the last season.

The second half of IPL 2021 is scheduled to kick off on September 19 in the UAE. CSK will be taking on their arch-rivals and defending champions Mumbai Indians in Dubai.
