The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 was marred with players pulling out due to injury and bubble fatigue, before the tournament got suspended owing to multiple COVID-19 cases in the bio-bubbles of various franchises.
The second phase of IPL 2021 will be held in UAE from September 19 and preparations are already in progress for the teams.
On Saturday (August), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) announced the replacements for some of their players from the first leg.
Australia’s leg-spinner Adam Zampa had flown back home citing "personal reasons" in the first half of IPL 14 and RCB named Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga as his replacement.
Another Australian player Daniel Sams won’t be taking part in the UAE-leg of IPL and RCB signed Sri Lanka’s fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera as a replacement.
Hasaranga and Chameera recently featured in the white-ball series against India and impressed one and all with their performances.
Coming to the third replacement, all-rounder Tim David, who is currently playing in The Hundred for Southern Brave, has been signed by RCB. David replaces New Zealand’s Finn Allen in the RCB squad.
Having won 5 out of their 7 games, RCB are placed in the third position in the points table. They will start their campaign in the second phase against KKR on September 20 in Abu Dhabi.
