With the second half of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) set to get underway in September-October in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have reportedly expressed their interest in reaching Dubai early, preferably by August 20.

Not only Delhi Capitals (DC) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also want to reach Dubai as early as possible to prepare and continue their dominance in the IPL 2021.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hasn’t yet announced the schedule for the final leg of the IPL 2021, but the CSK and DC have already informed the BCCI about their plans of arriving in Dubai by August 20 to begin their training camps in the UAE.

With the remaining 31 IPL 14 games expected to resume on September 19-20 and finish by October 15 in the UAE, the top three teams, CSK, DC, and RCB, in the IPL 2021 points table want to reach Dubai early and start their camp there as per the local governments and BCCI advisories.

Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of CSK, told Cricbuzz, “We want to be there by August 15, latest by 20th and we have informed the BCCI that we want to be there by then. We are hoping to get the required permissions, without which, the logistical plans will be difficult to execute.”

A Delhi Capitals (DC) official also confirmed to Cricbuzz that the franchise wants to be in Dubai by the same time and they have already informed the BCCI and IPL officials about the same. However, the confirmation regarding the same couldn’t be obtained from the RCB, but they reportedly also have the same plans.

Meanwhile, the BCCI Treasures Arun Dhumal has revealed that all preparations are in progress, and dates and scheduled for the IPL 14 will be communicated soon to the franchisees.

Dhumal told InsideSport recently, “We should release dates and schedules soon as the final round of preparations are going on at this stage.”

Noteworthy, both CSK and DC wanted to hold the training camp in India, but they canceled plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic and monsoon.
