IPL 2021: Taking IPL's remarkable journey to the UAE, says BCCI secretary Jay Shah

IPL 2021 will be continued in UAE from September 19 | BCCI/IPLThe 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) which was suspended indefinitely earlier this year owing to COVID-19 cases in team bio-bubbles, was later announced to resume in the UAE just like last year’s IPL.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary, Jay Shah on Wednesday said that the board is taking the Indian Premier League’s (IPL) remarkable journey to the UAE once again. Shah met Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, United Arab Emirates Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Social Development, and Khalid Al Zarooni.

The BCCI secretary took to Twitter to share some photos of their meet and thanked Nahayan and Zoorani for their lasting friendship and vision.

Taking @IPL’s remarkable journey to the #UAE again! Thank you, H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahyan & Khalid Al Zarooni for your lasting friendship and vision. We will overcome trying times and challenges, together,” Shah wrote as the caption to his post.

As far as this year’s IPL is concerned, it started on 9 April but had to be suspended mid-way with 29 matches played. The remainder of 21 matches including the playoffs and the final was then moved to UAE. The IPL 2021 is set to get underway on September 19 and the final is to be played on October 15.
