The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) might be MS Dhoni’s last season with the Chennai Super Kings if the wicket-keeper batsman decides to hang his boots after the second-leg of the tournament in UAE.
Former India batsman Suresh Raina who shares a great camaraderie with the right-hand explosive batsman, in his recent interaction said that he wants CSK wo win this year’s title under Dhoni’s leadership.
With the remainder of the IPL 14 to be played in the UAE, the southpaw is optimistic of ending CSK’s trophy drought and winning their fourth trophy.
“Hopefully, when we go to Dubai, we will have a camp and we can again win it for him. I think the way we were playing this year, we were having some extra confidence from his captaincy and he was enjoying each other's success,” Raina told Star Sports.
With the Chennai-based franchise on the second spot with 10 points to their name in 7 matches before the tournament was suspended owing to COVID-19 cases in bio-bubbles of different teams, the left-hand batsman nicknamed Chinna Thala is hoping to win the title for the 40-year-old.
“He was giving freedom to all the players and having Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo and Ruturaj in the side, we had the momentum. Hopefully, we can do it again this year for MS,” the 34-year-old said.
