The IPL 2021 is scheduled to restart form September 19 onwards in the UAE, as confirmed by Rajeev Shukla, the BCCI vice-president. This is good news for cricketers who participate in the league, especially the Indian players.

With the T20 World Cup 2021 following the IPL 2021, it will be a huge chance for the Indian players to perform and impress the Indian team selectors. One such player who will be expecting to do well is Saurashtra and Rajasthan Royals pacer Jaydev Unadkat.

Unadkat had taken 4 wickets in 4 matches including a three-wicket haul in the first half of the IPL 2021 and revealed that he was given a specific role by the new Rajasthan Royals (RR) director of cricket and head coach, Kumar Sangakkara.

Jaydev Unadkat hopes to be at the peak of his game in next 3-4 years

He revealed that Rajasthan Royals’ Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara wanted him to begin the season with a clean slate and was asked to maximize the results with the new ball and go for wickets at the start.

Unadkat said, “Though it was my fourth season with the team, Sangakkara wanted me to start afresh. The management wanted wickets from me with the new ball this season and I was able to do alright on that front whenever I got to play.”

The bowler signed off by saying, “It was obviously a tough experience with the thing with the way things were shaping outside the IPL bubble. You were praying for everyone’s well-being outside. Inside the bubble, the management was doing all that it could to do to take care of us.”
