Suryakumar Yadav’s fierce clash with Virat Kohli was one of the highlights of the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in UAE.
During the 48th match of IPL 2020, RCB skipper tried to disturb the focus of Suryakumar by sledging him. However, the MI batsman ignored Kohli’s remarks, maintained his composure and took his team over the line with an unbeaten knock of 43-ball 79.

In a live chat on Mumbai Indians' Instagram handle, Suryakumar reflected on that incident, saying he was happy that Kohli was having a go at him.
"It's not just me, he goes hard at any batsman batting against him," he said about Kohli.
"I was happy that he sledged me. It means even Kohli knew that if I bat on, we will win the match and if they got my wicket, then maybe they could slow us down and create a chance to win," he added.
Suryakumar Yadav further said both him and Kohli reacted in the heat of the moment during that intense clash and he has a huge amount of respect for the Indian captain.
When asked about his fiercest rivalry in cricket, Suryakumar stated he doesn’t like to be involved in these on-field duels before terming his little clash with Kohli as one.
"I am a cool and calm customer on the pitch, so I don't get into these rivalries. But there was that moment in Abu Dhabi, so I guess that can go down as one," he remarked.
