IPL 2021: Enjoyed dismissing legends like Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni- DC's Avesh Khan

The 24-year-old picked 14 wickets in 8 matches and was second on the list of highest wicket-takers.

Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Avesh Khan had a great Indian Premier League (IPL) this year and received a lot of praises for his performances. Not only did Khan pick 14 wickets in 8 matches but also dismissed the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and former India skipper MS Dhoni.

I spoke with Kohli during IPL when DC played RCB. He told me that I bowled well and should continue doing this,Khan told Cricket Next on Saturday.

The 24-year-old Avesh Khan who is also a big Virat Kohli fan, was seen getting his DC jersey signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper.

The right-arm quick who was second highest wicket-taker of this year’s IPL before its suspension just behind Harshal Patel with 14 wickets to his name also got the better of former India skipper MS Dhoni as he dismissed the explosive batsman for a two-ball duck.

When asked about getting big names like Kohli and Dhoni, the fast bowler said, “Both (Dhoni and Kohli) are legends of Indian cricket. I enjoyed dismissing both of them. For a budding cricketer like me, they were joyous occasions.

Both BCCI and IPL governing council had to indefinitely postpone the tournament this year owing to COVID-19 situation in India as well as the players and members of support staff had tested positive for the virus.
