Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Harshal Patel says that he would love to take the wicket of his current teammate AB de Villiers if he ever plays against Virat Kohli-led side in IPL.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) were one of the top sides in COVID-19 hit IPL 2021. One of the main reasons for Virat Kohli-led side being on the top was pacer Harshal Patel.

The 30-year-old solved RCB’s death over problems and picked up 17 wickets from seven innings as was also the owner of Purple Cap for most of the now-postponed IPL season.

IPL 2021: Harshal Patel reveals how Virat Kohli's message instilled confidence in him before IPL

In an interaction with India TV, Harshal Patel said that he has already picked up all of his "dream wickets" - Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli - in the IPL. He added that if he ever played against RCB he would love to take the wicket of AB de Villiers.

"I've already got my dream wickets. I had dismissed Sachin Tendulkar back in 2011. I have also taken the wicket of MS Dhoni twice and Kohli once.

“All these are my dream wickets. I hope I never play against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the future but if that happens, I would love to take the wicket of AB de Villiers," Harshal Patel told India TV.

Patel further revealed that how Virat takes pride in celebrating his teammates' success and said how the skipper covers up for his lack of celebration with his passionate antics.

"I usually don't celebrate my wickets with so much passion. Virat covers it up. It's his passion. His involvement in the field and his energy are exceptional. In a team sport, if you enjoy your teammate's success, your side eventually plays as a cohesive unit," he said.

Harshal Patel further recalled a conversation with Virat Kohli during the match against Mumbai Indians

"When I bowled a no-ball on my first ball against Mumbai Indians, Virat just told me to focus on the length. There was no other conversation. When there's too much noise, you just need simple feedback and all other things get blurred in the background,” he concluded.

With his heroics in the IPL 14, Harshal Patel is likely to get a place in India’s squad for the Sri Lanka tour.
