Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) assistant coach Brad Haddin revealed how David Warner reacted after he was axed from the leadership duties during now postponed IPL 2021. 

Despite leading SRH to their maiden IPL title in 2016 and winning the Orange Cap for most runs three times, David Warner was stripped off his captaincy and replaced by Kane Williamson by the SRH team management ahead of their IPL 2021 encounter against Rajasthan Royals (RR).

If this was not enough, the southpaw was dropped from the team’s playing XI as well. 

The decision to strip off Warner from the captaincy came after they lost 5 out of their first-6 matches under the veteran Australia opener and dropped to the last position on the points table.

Since then, many fans and pundits have said, spoken and speculated about the development and David Warner's future with the team. Talking to Fox Cricket, SRH assistant coach Brad Haddin revealed how southpaw took the decision in his stride.

"He took it with class. It was a bit of a shock to everyone when the management decided to go in a different direction to try and spark something in the team. We weren't playing at the standard we needed to but with Davey, the way he handled it, it was all class. He just got back on with the job," Brad Haddin told Fox cricket. 

Haddin said that David Warner would have returned to the side in the next few games if the tournament had carried on. He further praised the veteran opener for handling decision with class in a difficult situation. 

"I dare say he would come back in the contention in the next few games. He's one of the best in the world in that form of the game. You had to look at the way he reacted when he came onto the bench. 

“He was around everyone; he was running the drinks out. He was really focussed on the meetings so he handled it with a lot of class in a difficult situation," he said. 

Both Brad Haddin and David Warner are currently in the Maldives as they wait for flights to open up so they can return to their country.
