Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises acknowledged the hard work done by the nurses and expressed gratitude on the occasion of International Nurses Day on Wednesday (May 12). This day is also marked as the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, founder of modern nursing.
India is currently going through a tough time after being hit by the second wave of COVID-19. The pandemic has already taken many lives in the country and the frontline workers are trying hard to save as many lives as possible.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) called nurses the silent heroes and wrote that we all are indebted to them for their efforts to save lives. "To the silent heroes who work tirelessly and serve fearlessly (woman health worker emoji) We are indebted to you (raising hands emoji) #InternationalNursesDay #SaddaPunjab," PBKS tweeted.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) gathered fans to pay respect to the nurses with an orange heart emoji. "Comment with an (Orange heart emoji) to show gratitude towards our heroes on #InternationalNursesDay. #OrangeOrNothing #OrangeArmy," their tweet read.
While Rajasthan Royals creatively quoted Twitter Sports' tweet and mentioned Nurses as the 'MVP', Chennai Super Kings wrote about their care for the patients no matter what. "The clock keeps ticking, but your care never stops. ThaNk yoU foR Saving livEs!", they tweeted.
