India and Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) captain Virat Kohli has arrived at his home in Mumbai after the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) was suspended amid the COVID-19 crisis in India.
While international cricketers are scrambling to return home with several countries including Australia banned travelers from COVID-hit India, Indian cricketers will not have issues in flying to their homes since there are no restrictions on traveling in the country.
As the IPL 14 got postponed, Indian cricketers have started returning home and now Kohli is the latest one to return home safely from Ahmedabad following the postponement of the tournament on May 4 following the Coronavirus outbreak inside IPL bio-bubble.
Bangladesh’s Shakib al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman will travel to home by road as the Bangladesh government has suspended flights from India.
Noteworthy, the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) hopes to stage the remainder of 31 IPL 14 matches before or after the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 to be held in India in October and November.
The Indian players will spend the next few weeks at home before flying to England for the ICC World Test Championship final in June against New Zealand followed by a Test series against the hosts.
