Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) recently decided to sack the Australian batsman David Warner and appointed New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson as their leader for the remainder of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
The Hyderabad-based franchise surprised everyone by not including the swashbuckling opening batsman in their playing XI against the Rajasthan-based franchise.
While a lot of people found this move to be a no-brainer, former India spinner Murali Kartik was not particularly happy with this decision as he felt it was ‘shocking and absurd’.

When asked about the weather removal of Warner from the SRH side by an Australian sports journalist on Twitter, Kartik replied, “Mel. Firstly replacing him was downright shocking/absurd, but u know what was the icing on the cake” he doesn’t fit into the Team combination.”
“Seriously, suddenly, wow ur best player, one of IPL’s best suddenly doesn’t fit into ur team after having played so many yrs & 2days ago,” he further wrote on Twitter.

“So basically, saying that the ones watching are in kindergarten and we don’t understand. Seriously since when did Warner not fit into the team combo. Who is replacing him Sir Sachin/Lara, Sir Garfield, Sir Viv #IPL2021,” he further added.

The change in leadership did not change the fortunes of the ‘Orange Army’ as they lost against Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) as they suffered a 55-run loss in match 28 of the tournament.
