As the situation is improving back home, the Chennai-based spin bowler might join his IPL franchise for the last leg of the IPL. The 34-year-old will have to serve a mandatory 7-day quarantine and return negative COVID-19 reports before rejoining the DC bio-bubble.

Even though Ashwin has missed 5 matches in this season so far, he has never missed an opportunity on social media to remind his fans about the importance of following safety protocols as India has been badly hit by the second wave of COVID-19.
