IPL 2021: Saba Karim joins Delhi Capitals as head of talent search

DC won over PBKS by 7 wickets and went to the top of the table | BCCI/IPLFormer India wicket-keeper batsman Syed Saba Karim has joined Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals (DC) in this ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) on Sunday as the team's head of talent search.

Firstly, I would like to commend the incredible courage shown by the players during this year's IPL,” Karim said in a Delhi Capitals release.

It's not easy for anyone to stay away from their loved ones at this very difficult time. Yet they have stuck around, and continued playing the tournament, for which they deserve plenty of credit,” he added.

When asked about joining the Delhi-based franchise as a Talent Scout, Karim was very excited to begin this new role and discover new talents that IPL has done over the years.

I am very excited to begin my role as Talent Scout for the Delhi Capitals. The IPL has, over the years, unearthed so much talent, and continues to produce world-class action. Delhi Capitals is an exciting team to work with, and I am looking forward to helping them grow further,” he said.

Delhi Capitals are currently on top of the points table with 12 points to their name with 6 wins and 2 losses in 8 matches played.

After winning over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Sunday (2 May), Rishabh Pant and Co. will be taking the field against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Saturday (8 May) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
